STATUS: Full-time permanent positions, part-time permanent positions, and on-call positions

POSTING PERIOD: From June 2 to June 8, 2026

SALARY: Class 2 – $22.41/hour

SCHEDULE:

  • Full-time permanent positions: 33 hours per week on variable schedules (day, evening, weekend)
  • Part-time permanent positions: 15 hours per week on variable schedules (day, evening, weekend)
  • On-call positions (reservists): Up to 40 hours per week depending on your availability (no guarantee of hours) - (day, evening, weekend)

The challenges that await you

As a Loan Officer, you will help make the library welcoming and an essential living space for citizens. You will perform various tasks including, among others, lending and returning documents, shelving volumes, managing subscriptions, and providing information to citizens on various library-related topics, including hours of operation, activity schedules, addresses of other libraries, etc.

The ideal profile for us
  • Completed secondary school diploma (DES);
  • One (1) year of relevant customer service experience requiring direct contact with the public;
  • Interest in literature and general culture;
  • Perfect knowledge of French, both spoken and written, and functional mastery of the English language orally (an asset);
  • Comfortable with computers and new technologies, including digital reading devices;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a good team player;
  • Able to work under pressure, respond adequately to unforeseen situations, and demonstrate great adaptability.
